Sad news has come that the Philippines' military c-130 Hercules transporting airplane crashes in South Jolo island, Philippines with 92 people on board on Sunday 4 July at 11:30 local time (03:30 GMT). At least 17 people have died and 40 people have been rescued and taken to hospital. Officially said. The plane C-130 Hercules was transporting 92 army personnels from Cagayan de Oro to South Jolo island. The head of the Philippines armed forces, Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, said the plane missed a runway while trying to land. He said it crashed near a village called Bangkal in the town of Patikul. The plane that crashed previously in service with the US Air Force, was handed to the Philippines in January. The aircraft first flew in 1988, according to Aviation Safety Network.
